Got a text message on my cell – he’s back up to 33k!

Up and down (by SuitedPair)
Nside is on dinner break (at least they all get buffet comps and line passes). He has 26,000, average is 24,000 with about 147 left. Things are starting to heat up as the short stacks are feeling lots of pressure now. He had chipped up to around 36k in a blind v blind confrontation with Jean Belland, a pro seated just to his left. But then he lost some chips when his AA was cracked by Kx. The turn paired the K high flop, Nside checked behind and then called a small bet on the river (even though he knew the guy was on Kx) since he was getting huge pot ods at that point. He thinks he played the hand all right, it is just disheartening when AA is cracked. He didn’t get lunch, so he is going to get some food now and regroup. He’s still a bit above average. Maybe he can get some of his chips back from the Kx guy.
He’s hanging in there (By SuitedPair)
Nside is at 26,000. Average is 24,000 with 147 players left. He was moved to a new table and that one will also break up soon. He is not too happy about that, since he liked his first table quite well. They will break around 7pm for dinner, so hopefully he can hang on and regroup after he gets some dinner.

Nside is up to about 27k
Level 4 update (by SuitedPair)
They have completed level 4 and Nside called me on his break. He lost a few chips just before the break when he had to fold JJ on an Ace high flop. He has 19,900 chips. Average is 15,000 with roughly 250 players left. When they come back the blinds will be 200/400 with 25 antes. There are quite a lot of tight players that are now in low M situations and they should start dropping out now. The very large stack player to Nsideâ??s right is aggressive and a decent player. Nside is going to take his time and hopefully get a situation where he can chip up through this guy. Otherwise he likes his table. Some of the players have obvious weaknesses and/or tells. He is feeling pretty good thus far.
Nside thinks he may have misplayed his big 2-pair hand. The blinds were 100/200, he was in the big blind with K7s. A crazy player who has been raising anything, raised to 600 first in and two players cold called. Nside called. Flop is T75. Nside checks, the crazy guy bets, one player calls, Nside calls. Turn is a 2. Pot is pretty large now and Nside makes a 2k bet to try to take it down. The crazy guy folds, but the other player calls. Uh oh. Luckily the river is a K and Nside bets 3k, gets called and takes it down. The player muttered something about getting rivered again.
Nside also reports that the chair massage is the best $15 bucks he has ever spent.
Continuing to chip up
Just won a big hand from the BB with 2 pair
Up to 22000
Level 3 Status
I’m at 12,500 at the end of level 3. AA no action on flop biggest hand.
Update after level two (by SuitedPair)
OK, Nside called me at his break after level two. He is sitting with about 1400 in chips. The average stack is 1100, so he is doing fine. He likes his table. Most of the players are pretty solid tight non-pros with one crazy reckelss player and a couple of TV-watching wannabees. That is Nside’s favorite mix for ring games, so lets hope he finds it as profitable in a tourney setting.
He didn’t have many notable hands in the first two levels. He picked up a few chips in a blind v. blind battle and later floped a full house with 99, but didn’t get too much action with it. His biggest hand was JJ, which he folded preflop when the tightest player at the table came over the top of an early raiser. Four players saw the flop, T87. The re-raiser bet the pot and the player who called the re-raise cold pushed in. The tight player called, showed AA and went home when the other guy’s TT held up.
After the break, Nside e-mailed to tell me that an agressive player with a large stack was moved to his table and seated directly to his right. I’ll keep you posted as I get details.
