    At Cyb's request.

For the record, an extremely good way for the mafia to play the game is to eliminate the smartest players first. Therefore, you should take your early exits as compliments.

I suppose I was slightly flattered by my swift exit, although they could have offed me before day 1. Ah, they offed krazytxan didn't they, because of her spreadsheets. Looks like keeping a secret of the fact that i had one of my own going granted me an extra 24 hours :)

I really wanted to be quiet the first day, so that the mafia would maybe not focus on me, but then I thought that if I was going to be offed early, I might as well have my say.

Although there's not much happening today, it's interesting to see how things have changed from day 1. Suddenly Spoonie didn't seem quite so keen to lead, which I found interesting.

The no edit rule amuses me. Mainly because I can't figure out why people keep moaning about it. It's not like you've told people once they've typed a character they can't delete it and are forced to submit posts with typos...
  1.
The no-edit rule also amuses me greatly. It is by far the most entertaining rule I've come up with yet. I have some significant time away from the computer this weekend -- I may have to ask you to fill in for me on game 3 moderation depending on the timing of things (if you will be around).

I should be around most of the weekend. Not this evening, but the rest is not too hectic for me.
  2.
So far, it seems to be working out. I'll be gone until probably an hour after the posted deadline.

I think that the mafia are in a very strong position right now.

    hi cyb,

thought i'd move over here to make a comment. cyb you are actually 100% right. you need to eliminate the smart players first. you got it.

that's why i'll probably never play this game again lol (hope that didn't sound too egotistical)

if i'm not eliminated early then i'm certainly mob :) or the doctor

the no edit rule is crucial. i was able to post some things in game 2, then decided oops, then went back and edited. you should not be allowed, ever, to edit.

You could always assemble an all-star line-up where everyone was good and needed to be lynched right away.

Are the innocents of game 3 about to get their game together?

I don't see it happening. A very strange game. As someone said, the loud peple have been killed (or have gone mysteriously quiet...), leaving a very quiet game...

Chris - I'm also worried that if I'm still in after a few days it will be assumed I'm mafia! Hardly seems fair :-(

And it's one reason I suspected Pilch was the doctor in game 2.

The mafia are looking at some crazy plays right now. It isn't over yet.

I think if the town correctly lynches a mafia member today, they are going to win.
  5.
At this point, they are very likely to do so. They will chose from six players, four of whom are mafia. The mafia should still win even if they get hit, but they might panic and make mistakes.

They should have won yesterday. Either came out with a false detective or pushed through toom.

The mafia don't need much help to push a vote through - is it worth them going all out for that, then making their kill tonight, and wouldn't that win them the game?
  6.
At one point yesterday, there were three votes for Toom. There were a lot of mafia votes uncast. If they can either organize to all be able to vote en masse they could almost certainly this thing.

Yeah, it seems the mafia aren't as organised as I gave them credit for. If the mafia have learnt from their mistakes it's incredibly dangerous to put in an early vote, as toom now has. I wish they wouldn't do that.
  7.
It is important to negotiate a consensus, I think. If either of the two players who have a vote are innocent, the mafia could jump on it.

The problem is if they try to jump on it and fail, they will have exposed themselves.

    hello.

Can I ask a question? Did the Mafia appoint a Don in 3?

    what did you spreadsheet?

    nside,

If I were mafia, I would ask that you be online at a appointed time and then have every mob member vote at exactly that time.

I would be EXTREMELY pissed if I were mafia, did that and then you weren't there as all the innocents withdraw thier vote.
  8.
In games 2 and 3, I just appointed a Don and an order of succession. It is easier for me if they have a Don.

Heh, Spoonie is really getting on my nerves now - what the hell is he up to? Could this be one of the mafia's "crazy plays"? I really hope he's not innocent...
  10.
It is a mistake by him if he is mafia or innocent. If he really is the doctor, he is exposing himself to too much risk. Normally, no one declares to be the doctor until the vote seems certain to go against him. If he is mafia, he just painted a big bullseye on his chest.
