    Hurry!
  1.
Wynton use numbers to pick the new KM ?

don't really think there is anything tnat can be done as a punishment that really works. Think you just maintain that no reasonable punishment could be come up with other than death....oooo death? As the town's KM? and then he has to choose one...............
  2.
that way KM is guarenteed not mafia, but it screws up the list making strategy
  3.
I think you could stop the game and say that everyone agrees that the KM kill would end the game. They can choose to proceed under new rules to keep it a game or they can just end it now. Or you declare a failure of the monarchy and a reversion to mob rule in the way you would if all remaining players were special.

I think if the game goes to the end under the current rules, the mafia should simply resign.

I haven't thought it through, but maybe revert to pure lynch votes and suspend BD from voting tomorrow. If you are considering changing the rules now I'd lock the thread while it gets sorted out.
  4.
I wish I had thought of this flaw when Wynton first told me his rules instead of during Day One.

wade:What about just anouncing the town is now in chaos and revert to pure lynch mode immediately?

This solution seems fair to me and would lead to an exciting ending. Extend the day 24 hours to give both sides time to prepare.

Downside is after today's events Pie is now 100% innocent, and BD will appear innocent for taking a penalty.

I agree. Just from a purely spirit of the game change it. Nothing wrong with anything anyone did because they were trying to win and doing what any innocent should try and do.

"In the spirit of the game as it is quiet clear that this is a no win situation for the badguys due to a flaw in the game, I hereby declare that there is no longer any kingmaker and the town must revert to normal lynching. End of day is at 5pm EST. BD, as a result of his rule infraction, may not vote today."

but everyone has agreed to the idea, so how can one person be looked at more innocent than another?
    • CommentAuthorMXRider
    • CommentTimeNov 5th 2007

i'd also make it known that declaring as kingmaker would be instant death
  5.
If you change the rules, you should do it BEFORE KT kills the KM and give them another day. I'd go for the pick a new KM blind without seeing who can or cannot be the next KM. It stays closest to the current game.

As you can see from the thread, I decided to deal with the BD issue separately.

My plan = after the execution of the day - is to tell people that I do fear there is a no win situation for the bad guys, due to a mathematical approach none of us had really considered ahead of time. I will ask them to PM me directly for their views whether they would agree to make the KM decision random here on out.

Then we can all toss out the results of this for the standings, for whatever that's worth.

The townies are going to wait for BD's suspension to end before doing anything. Wynton, you may want to readress BD's penalty.
  6.
If you wait until AFTER the execution, the damage is done. BB will be exposed and San will likely have no shot. If you change, they probably take out bb anyhow, so it may not matter.

It would at least give BB an attempt at talking his way out of it, which may be entertaining.

Can't hurt. Not sure if Pie will agree though. Maybe give them the choice of ending the game OR changing the rules, majority wins. Tough spot either way.
  7.
It makes thing a bit worse than it would have been before Cyb declared, but in my view this game is a mortal lock as an innocent win without the change. Pie will probably have a cow, which might be amusing. I'm in favor of anything that maximizes drama and my amusement.

Ok, game is stopped and I'm asking for their views. Note, I don't think Cyb's declaration made a difference, because his status had already been made crystal clear a few pages before that, as everyone else came out, one by one, and said they were not KM.

my personal vote would be to play on with the revision of rules.
  8.
Pie will disagree strongly, I think. The game goes like this:

    Cyb king kill
    Pie mob kill
    bb88 king kill

Jane and BD are then confirmed innocents and San will have to somehow get two innos lynched from a cast of three. Plus, if they figure it out, he can never kill BD, because BD can signal the last mobster the same was as today.

    so it should go:

    King kills bb88
either cyb or pie are hit tonight by mobsters
    game moves on from there.......

Here are the votes. I'm at a loss what to do, as I have been for a while.

    BD votes stop.
Pie kind of votes stop, just figuring nothing really can be done. But I'm sure he'd continue as is.
Jane wants to revert to a totally normal town, with lynches to be decided by votes.
    Pizza abstains
Cyb will do whatever we want (which is like abstaining, kind of)
San and bb (not expressly voting, but we can all guess what they want)
Wes wants to continue exactly the same

    Now what?

I just wrote this to the mobsters:

"Note, there probably is no way of evening things up entirely, and that may not be the appropriate goal anyway. The only reasons I see for continuing are:

    (1) To learn a little more about this format (which applies if we continue in close to the original concept);
    (2) Just for the hell of it (which only makes sense if most of you will get some entertainment out of it)."

So to answer you Wade, I'm not sure. It's hard for me to gauge how much people want to continue, even with the voting. And the longer I wait, the more that we probably run out of steam, if that hasn't already happened.

Ah, never mind. I think that the mixed voting means that the game has to go on as originally planned.
